We’ve achieved top regulatory grades for governance, viability, and consumer standards
G1 / V1 / C1
We have been awarded G1 for Governance, V1 for Financial Viability, and C1 for Consumer Standards by the Regulator of Social Housing — the highest possible ratings across all three areas.
This places us among a small number of providers nationally to achieve this standard and makes us the first mixed‑tenure, institutionally backed organisation to receive top ratings for governance, financial strength and consumer standards.
What do these ratings mean?
- G1 for Governance – This confirms that our governance arrangements are robust and effective, with strong accountability, oversight and risk management embedded across the organisation.
- V1 for Financial Viability – This recognises our strong financial profile, our ability to attract both government and investor funding, and our resilience in navigating future economic challenges.
- C1 for Consumer Standards – This affirms that we deliver positive outcomes for customers, treat people fairly and with respect, and actively use customer feedback to shape and improve our services.
Together, these ratings are a clear endorsement of how we operate, the quality of service we provide, and our customer‑focused approach across governance, service delivery and long‑term investment.
Delivering high‑quality, sustainable and affordable homes is truly a team effort, and this achievement reflects the dedication shown day in, day out to deliver for today and grow for tomorrow.
We’re proud of this milestone with our incredible team who have built this business from the ground up, alongside our investors who rightly expect the highest standards, and our partners who help us create the homes our customers live in and the services they rely on.
What’s next?
We are continuing to explore new ways to work in partnership with the sector to help meet the country’s housing needs.
In March 2026, we announced a new long‑term partnership with The Hyde Group to accelerate the delivery of affordable homes across the UK. This joint venture brings together L&G’s investment strength with Hyde’s national delivery platform to help deliver more high‑quality, sustainable homes at scale.
We want to play an active role in strengthening the affordable housing sector and contributing positively to the shared challenges we all face. By setting high standards and working collaboratively with partners, peers and policymakers, we aim to demonstrate what is possible — and help deliver the quality affordable homes the country needs.
