Let’s take a tour of West London
10 October 2022
It’s no secret that West London is full of iconic landmarks, attractions and amenities. Our very own Acer Apartments development is rooted in the heart of White City, W12, with all the accompanying activities that you could ever ask for!
Yet, with so much choice, it can be hard to know exactly where to go and what to do. Why not join us for a quick tour around West London to discover some of the very best spots to spend an autumnal weekend?
Portobello Road
One of the Capital’s famous locations, Portobello Road Market provides the perfect leisurely weekend. Get amongst the crowds to soak in the lively atmosphere; a result of authentic London vendors selling the weird and wonderful. Whether you’re after a knick-knack or an English antique, you’ll find a treasure or two on this bustling street.
Along the way, you can visit the Insta-famous row of pretty, pastel houses to get your shareworthy shot, and end the day with a light bite from a range of long-standing food vendors.
Just two stops on the tube from Acer Apartments, you can experience all this vibrant area has to offer most days of the week.
The Design Museum
West London is the home to many of the city’s most popular galleries and museums; but we have a recommendation.
As the hallmark of London’s ground-breaking arts scene, The Design Museum is one of the neighbourhood’s finest institutions. If you want to know more about how and where some of the most famous art movements came from, this is the place to visit. In autumn, you can expect to see a range of exhibitions: from surrealism and design to the World of ASMR.
We personally recommend SCCI’s Fashion Hub Weekend, which “explores fashion and its intersections with film, technology, social justice, business and the environment”.

Enjoy the falling leaves
There’s no shortage of stunning green space in West London. You have a range of beautiful parks and gardens to choose from, from the famous Hyde Park to lesser-known hidden gems such as Chiswick House & Gardens.
As we head into autumn, we recommend taking a stroll around Holland Park, just one stop on the tube from The Acer Apartments in White City. The changing leaves provide a breath-taking backdrop on those frosty autumnal mornings which will be sure to get you excited for the cosy season ahead. With its 22.5 hectares of gardens, it also offers a children’s play facility, sports areas, cafeteria and large areas of woodland abundant with wildlife.
The Grand Union Canal
The Grand Union Canal is a favourite of many people in the summer, where the trees create a beautiful, dappled shade over the languid canal lined with picturesque bars and restaurants. We always recommend taking a day to make your way down the waterside to an area aptly dubbed ‘Little Venice’, where the waterway meets the Paddington Junction.
No atmosphere is lost in autumn, as the canal gives way to the cosiness of outdoor heaters and candlelight – if you so choose to stop at an establishment on the way. We recommend the Waterside Café, a historic canal boat offering up sweets treats and a spot of lunch.
