Supporting the community of Maylandsea Primary School

Earlier this month, Legal & General Affordable Homes made a donation towards Maylandsea Primary School’s fundraiser event to make the school’s outdoor play structure safe for use again. The obstacle course, used by children of all ages, and a cozy wooden gazebo are both currently unusable and will benefit from the much needed investment.
The primary school, rated good in the latest Ofsted report, has approximately 250 pupils and serves the villages of Mayland, Maylandsea, Latchingdon, and Steeple as well as other nearby villages.
Located nearby to Carter Meadows, a Legal & General Affordable Homes Shared Ownership community offering two, three and four-bedroom houses with gardens in the idyllic village of Latchingdon, Essex. Of the 52 houses at Carter Meadows, 11 fall under affordable rent while 41 benefit from the Shared Ownership scheme and are available to buy now.
Adriana Vizcarra, chair of Friends of Maylandsea Primary School said, “Thank you to Legal & General Affordable Homes for sponsoring a bouncy castle for Inflatable Day to help fund the repair to the school’s play structure. We managed to raise more than £2000 on the day and we couldn’t have done that without amazing companies like yours stepping up to help.”
Jennifer Cresswell, Sales and Marketing Administrator at Legal & General Affordable Homes added, “Active outdoor play is incredibly important for the wellbeing of children and we want to do our part in helping build healthy, thriving communities. We can’t wait to see the children using the play equipment again. “
