A true natural haven

Tenterden is known as the Jewel of the Weald and it’s easy to see why, as it’s the perfect place to put down roots and get on the property ladder. The broad, tree-lined High Street is full of fascinating shops and boutiques. The elegant Georgian architecture, tall Victorian buildings and traditional cottages reflect how the town has been popular and prosperous for hundred of years, yet it has never lost its sense of being a tranquil country retreat.

You’ll have The High Weald, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and there are so many ways to enjoy it. You can take the steam railway along the Rother Valley, play golf or enjoy the fishing at Tenterden Trout Waters. Biddenden is a respected local vineyard and a guided tour of the vines, followed by a sample of the produce, makes an excellent day out.

Sissinghurst Castle Gardens is also nearby and another great place to visit with the family. Head a little further and you’ll find yourself at Scotney Castle, with its nature trails and hop farm. Maybe the best trip of all is going to the coast, exploring Rye’s cobbled streets and soaking up the sun on Camber Sands

Wherever you’re heading, the Havens is a great starting point. By road, the A21 takes you directly up to Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Bromley and Central London, or head in the other direction and you’re soon in Hastings. It also offers a quick connection to the national motorway network.

Trains from Ashford International reach London St Pancras in just 38 minutes or go to Headcorn Station for services to Charing Cross in 1 hour 10 minutes. There are also excellent bus services to local villages and Kent’s major towns, including Cranbrook, Hastings, Rye and Maidstone.

The Eurotunnel entrance at Folkstone is just 25 miles away and Gatwick Airport is within easy reach. Yet, with so much natural beauty within yards of your front door, maybe the best form of transport is to get on your bike and admire the scenery along the Wealden Cycle Trail.

Affordability guide

Estimate Household Income

When looking for your new home, it’s important to understand what you can afford. To help get an idea of the estimated affordability for a home on this development, you can apply the 45% net income approach. In simple terms, this means that a household should not spend more than 45% of their household income to pay for their mortgage, rent and service charge.

2 Bedroom SOLD 3 Bedroom SOLD

As a rough estimate, the graphics above suggests the household income required to purchase; however, people with a lower income may be able to secure a property if they have a larger deposit. (i.e. if you have a larger deposit saved, where you have higher savings, your household income can be lower than the figure quoted above).

How it works

Shared Ownership is a government-backed scheme which allows first-time buyers – or those who do not currently own a property – the opportunity to purchase a home at a more affordable price.

The Shared Ownership scheme is simple – you buy an initial share of between 25% and 75% of the homes full value and pay a subsidised rent on the remainder.

You may purchase further shares (up to 100%) as your circumstances change, should you choose to
