Description About the local area.

Surrounded by the beauty of Lancashire

The town of Preston is just a few minutes down the road offering you two shopping centres – St George’s and Fishergate – together with an intriguing artisan market. There’s great entertainment too with a choice of theatres and live music venues, cinema, restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs. The town is a cultural centre, boasting galleries, a museum and a university.

Salwick and Preston railway stations are within easy reach of Sandpiper Grange, offering you excellent connections right across the country including regular services to Blackpool, Manchester, Lancaster and Liverpool. There are also excellent links to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham, the Lake District and two trains an hour (one direct) to London Euston.

You’re well served for major roads too. The A583 will take you into the heart of Preston in one direction, or all the way to Blackpool in the other. The M6, M61, M65 and M55 all run close to Preston offering excellent links to all points of the compass. There are major airports in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Birmingham, yet perhaps the best form of transport is to get on your bike and follow the Lancaster Canal towpath, enjoying the scenery.

Talking of natural beauty, Lancashire has more than its fair share. The county is criss-crossed with rivers and canals and there are great walking and cycling routes close to your front door. The Guild Wheel, for example, takes you past historic docks, ancient woodlands and nature reserves. Travel North and you are in the rugged moorland of the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Or head West for the wide open, sandy beaches and charming villages of the Fylde coast. Blackpool is the glittering jewel of this stretch of coastline, with its famous tower, pleasure beach, winter gardens and big name entertainment. The nightlife of Liverpool, shops of Manchester and majesty of the Lake District are all within easy reach.

Buying an apartment for the first time and through Shared Ownership can seem daunting but Jamie Fraser was really excellent at being there to guide us and help every step of the way. Jamie showed us the apartment multiple times, helped give a push with mortgage brokers and solicitors along the way, and was always very prompt to answer all our questions. This provided reassurance in this long and intricate process. From start to finish it took about 8 weeks to complete. Jamie also checked on us a few times after we'd moved in to make sure everything was running smoothly. We love our new home too and couldn't be happier to have taken the first step on the property ladder!

I had a fantastic experience working with Mark Thompson at L&G to secure my first home. From my initial enquiry to completion, Mark was consistently responsive, clear, and supportive throughout the entire process. He kept me well-informed with timely updates and set clear expectations at every stage, which made the journey much smoother and less stressful. I would highly recommend his services to anyone looking for a home with L&G.

Liaising with Natalie has hands down been the best customer service I have ever experienced. She was SO incredibly patient and made me feel totally at ease anytime we communicated. I never felt embarrassed or stupid asking her a question which was a total relief, especially as I had plenty being a first time buyer. Sometimes you can just feel a person really loves helping others, that they have a real passion for excellent customer care and this was most definitely felt. Thank you again Natalie! Your company are very lucky to have you. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I did not proceed in purchasing a shared ownership property, however L&G's service (big shout out to Mark too) was 10/10, I just had to leave a review!
