Benson Grange – supporting the community in Witheridge

Legal & General Affordable Homes is contributing £15,500 towards community projects in the village of Witheridge, Devon, where a new development of Shared Ownership homes will be launched at Benson Grange in 2025.
We will donate £100 for each affordable home built at Benson Grange, creating a fund to support local events, organisations, charities, or groups and make a long-term difference for the local community.
The first contribution was made with a donation towards supporting the St John’s Fair in Witheridge in June 2024.
One of the oldest Royal Charter fairs in the country dating back to 1248, there had been a 5 year absence in the village before returning with great success this year.

The £15,500 fund will be available throughout 2025 for community organisations to apply for a variety of projects. Legal & General Affordable Homes will collaborate with the community and local council to prioritise funding allocations that maximise community benefit.
- Who’s eligible? Community groups and charities. Your group should be based in Witheridge and help local people.
- What kind of projects? Those that benefit current and future residents.
- Funding: We’ll ask for proof of invoices on how the money will be spent and a bank account for the organisation.
- Share Your Story: Be ready to share a photo and a few words about your project on our website.
